On the afternoon of July 30, the 2021 Qingdao Sailing WorkMeeting was held in the Conference Center of Municipality.
The meeting comprehensively summarized the work in 2020 and made arrangements for 2021, focusing on the requirements for the preparation of the 13thQingdao International Sailing Week·Qingdao InternationalMarine Festival 2021. At the same time,2021 Qingdaosailing-featured schoolsplaques were awarded.
The meeting affirmed the achievements of the Qingdao Major International Sailing Events (Festivals) OrganizingCommittee in hosting major events and building thebrand ofSailingCity under the normal situation of epidemic prevention and control. The meeting made it clear that we should be based on reality and focus on five major areas,including event enhancement, marina planning,SailingCity brand, sportsandeducation integration, sports and tourism integration, promoting new development ofthe city brand.
Luan Xin,ViceMayor of the QingdaoMunicipal People’s Government andVicePresident of theOrganizingCommittee, stressed that 2021 is the opening year of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the 100th Anniversaryof the Founding of The Communist Party of China. Qingdao took the initiative to co-host the Qingdao-Macao International Offshore Race2021 with the Macao Special Administrative Region, creating a Qingdaomodel of offshore race under the epidemic in the country and the world. Sun Chunlan, Member of the Political Bureau oftheCPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, visited Qingdao and gave full recognition to the achievements ofPromotingSailinginSchools.Sports-related marine tourism has become thenew highlight of the upgraded development ofsailing industry and sports travel integration.
Zang Aimin,ExecutiveVice President of Qingdao Olympic Sailing City Development Association and VicePresident of the Organizing Committee highly affirmed the preliminary work of theOrganizingCommittee. She said that theOrganizingCommittee shouldorganizethe regattas and activities well to make the event a wonderful festival, improveservice to show the image of theSailing Capital, expand the brandpromotion to enhance social impact, strengthen the safety awareness, epidemic prevention and control. TheOrganizingCommittee should focus on deepening the"Year of Project Implementation", further clarify the target responsibilities, andaccomplish the work in 2021 to contribute to the leapfrog development of sailing in Qingdao.
Che Jinghua, Director GeneraloftheQingdao Municipal Sports Bureau and Secretary General of the Organizing Committee, pointed out thatwe should start fromthe deployment and requirements of the sailingmeeting, put in effortstowards the goal ofbuildinga world-famousSailingCity, focusing onregatta organization, event planning, epidemic prevention and control, security, catering and medical care, guest reception and other preparatory work of the SailingWeek· Marine Festival.
